Here's a drawing I did from life while the person was sitting across from me. It's tricky to catch a likeness when you are drawing from life, so I often use photographs. But this one I drew straight from a live model.
I didn't think that it looked much like the real deal, but it "sort of" looked like him so much that he was pleased to have a portrait done by a real artist that he got to see as it emerged. He usually wore a hat, so I caught him at a "bareskin" moment!
